The Centennial Museum is an academic support and outreach unit of the University of Texas at El Paso focusing on the natural history and the indigenous, colonial, pre-urban, and folk cultures of the border regions of southwestern United States and Mexico. It promotes and shares knowledge and understanding of the natural and cultural diversity of the region and its peoples. The Museum meets its responsibilities through the presentation and curation of the permanent collections and by scholarly research. It also presents programs that promote the more general mission of the University of Texas at El Paso.
The Centennial Museum at The University of Texas at El Paso exhibit galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, and the museum office is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The Museum is closed on University holidays.
The Centennial Museum building is located at the corner of University and Wiggins on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso; the elevator entrance is located off of University Avenue. The University is accessed from I-10 at the UT El Paso/Shuster exit. The Museum does not charge an entry fee.
The staff consists of the Director, Curator of Exhibits and Collections, Curator of Botany, Administrative Assistant, Administrative Secretary, and Director of the Laboratory for Environmental Biology.
