Grizzly Bear
Ursus arctos
- Order: Carnivora
- Family: Ursidae (Bear Family)
- Species: Ursus arctos (ERR-sus ARK-tos)
- Common English Names: Grizzly, Brown Bear
- Common Spanish Names: Oso Plateado
- Remarks: A number of species of "grizzly bear" had been named from North America. Eventually they were collected into a single species, Ursus horribilis and later
lumped with the Brown Bear of Eurasia as Ursus arctos. As currently understood, the species includes the Big Brown Bears and the Kodiak Bear of Alaska.
