• Geographic Range: Southern Utah, northern Arizona, to southwestern Kansas, south through New Mexico to far western Texas, northern Coahuila, and Chihuahua, Mexico.
• Plant Form: Densely branching shrub to 4' high.
• Remarks: Green, glabrous, linear to narrowly lance shaped leaves on a densely branching shrub with rayless pale yellow flower heads in fall. Usually found on dunes or deep sandy soils.
