Chihuahuan Desert Natural History Course. A course introducing the natural history of the Chihuahuan Desert, designed to be either a self-learning course or as the basic outline for a formally taught course.

Chihuahuan Desert Teaching Module. A team-written teaching module to introduce students to the Chihuahuan Desert.

Chihuahuan Desert Links. Links to a number of websites involved with the natural or cultural history of the Chihuahuan Desert.

Chihuahuan Desert Gardens. The gardens present over 600 kinds of native plants from the Greater Chihuahuan Desert Region.

Chihuahuan Desert plants. A searchable database of plants native to the Greater Chihuahuan Desert Region. Accounts generally include images and some basic information.

Educational Resources. A link to the Centennial Museum Educational menu page for both informal and formal education.

Desert Diaries. Desert Diaries is a daily short presentation on KTEP, National Public Radio for the Southwest. The website includes the text for each presentation, usually with additional material such as images, references, and the recorded program available in mp3 format. Spanish versions are slowly being added.

Natural History Exhibits. Permanent exhibits include mammals, birds, geology, and paleontology.

Research: Introduction

Research: Laboratory for Environmental Biology. The Laboratory is the associated biological research arm of the Museum.

El Paso Region Checklists. Checklists of butterflies, fish, amphibian and reptiles (herps), mammals, and fossil vertebrates.

Bird Collection Database. A searchable database of selected data regarding the Ornithological Collection, Laboratory for Environmental Biology.

Mammal Collection Database. A searchable database of selected data regarding the Mammal Collection, Laboratory for Environmental Biology. Also see MaNIS, below.

Plant Collection Database. A searchable database of selected data from the Herbarium, Laboratory for Environmental Biology.

Vertebrate Paleobiology Collection Database. A searchable database of selected data regarding the Vertebrate Paleobiology Collection, Laboratory for Environmental Biology.

The Herpetology database is now part of HerpNET. HerpNET is a collaborative effort funded by the National Science Foundation to establish a network between databases of herpetological collections in natural history museums by institutions in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

MaNIS is a similar collaborative effort for mammals. The University of Texas at El Paso collections (Laboratory for Environmental Biology, Centennial Museum) now is a participating institution.

U.S. Mosquito Identification to Genera. A series of slides and accompanying dialogue originally prepared by the Centers for Disease Control to teach recognition of the mosquito genera of the U.S. Hosted on the Laboratory for Environmental Biology site.

Museum Publications. The Museum has a short series of publications on anthropology and natural history.

Research: Southwestern Biostratigraphic Institute. The institute is the geological research division of the Museum.
